Welcome
March 15, 2008
We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for participants in The Caring and Cancer Project sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. Formerly known as The COUPLES Project, we have re-named the project to make clear that in addition to spouses and partners the project also welcomes caregivers who are family members or close friends.
This project will evaluate a new DVD program that inspires and informs caregivers in how to use simple touch and massage techniques to bring comfort and relaxation to the patient. We have space for 100 patient/caregiver dyads in the greater Boston area to participate in a randomized controlled trial evaluating the program. Please click here for more information about the Caring and Cancer Project.
We have recently completed Phase I of the Fibromyalgia Wellness Project, sponsored by the National Institute for Arthritis, Musculoskeltal and Skin diseases (NIAMS). This project is developing an interactive web-based self-help program to aid people with FM in identifying their own optimal strategies to reduce symptoms and improve the quality of their lives. We are currently preparing the application for Phase II of this project for NIH.
We recently completed the Elder Healer Project, another NIH study. This project was an exploration of empowering elders with instruction in Healing Touch as a form of service to others in their communities and natural social networks.
Elsewhere on this site you will find resources to support personal healing as well as education, program development and research in the field of integrative health care. Please feel free to inquire about any of our services or to request more information about speaking or other forms of learning.
Private consultation is available in our Kittery office, and phone appointments are also available. If you or a loved one are affected by CFS, check out the book Recovering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome available free on this site, and the related audio CD program for further support. The Spanish translation -- Recuperarse del Síndrome de Fatiga Crónica -- is also available there.
Best regards,

William Collinge, Ph.D., President
